Quantum Diafan SMR

Quantum Diafan SMR is a liquid starter fertilizer with a biocatalyst designed to support rhizosphere microbial activity, root development and early crop growth.

The SMR biocatalyst is described as supporting mineralization and nutrient release near young roots.

Composition and properties, by mass

  • Total nitrogen (N): 7.0% (84 g/L).
  • Available phosphorus (P₂O₅): 7.0% (84 g/L).
  • Available potassium (K₂O): 7.0% (84 g/L).
  • SMR soil adjuvant and biocatalyst (alginate polysaccharides and prohormonal compounds): 2.1% (25 g/L).
  • Density at 20 °C: 1.20 g/mL; pH: 7.0; crystallization temperature: −10 °C.

Product features

Starter nutrition: the phosphorus is present in an available orthophosphate form. The low salt index and absence of ballast salts are intended to make placement near seed safer. The formula is presented for use on light soils, under limited moisture and where soil phosphorus is already moderate or high.

SMR biocatalyst: the manufacturer describes its role in nutrient release, availability of macro- and micronutrients, rhizosphere microbial activity and early root growth.

Root-zone conditions: natural high-molecular-weight components are intended to retain moisture, improve porosity and aeration, and strengthen contact between roots and soil particles.

Plant development and stress response: SMR components are described as influencing hormonal signaling, root and shoot development, photosynthesis and tolerance of adverse soil and weather conditions.

Application rates

In-furrow soil application: 20–90 L/ha (25–125 kg/ha). For maize, sunflower, soybean and sugar beet: 20–50 L/ha (25–70 kg/ha). For cereals and rapeseed: 30–90 L/ha (55–125 kg/ha).

The maximum rate safe for seeds and seedlings depends on the crop, row spacing, soil texture, temperature, moisture, cation-exchange capacity, organic matter and applicator design. Use under suitable soil moisture; avoid application during soil drought. Consult the manufacturer when selecting a rate for specific conditions.
