Rapeseed and Mustard Nutrition Program

Rapeseed and mustard are responsive to micronutrients, particularly boron, manganese and molybdenum. Boron deficiency may cause buds and flowers to shed prematurely, reducing pod numbers. Foliar nutrition is especially relevant during active stem growth and from budding to early flowering.

Seed treatment

The source program lists Quantum Technical Crops at 2.0 L/t, Quantum SRKZ at 1.0 L/t and Quantum AminoFrost at 1.0 L/t. Treated-seed moisture should be monitored to prevent cracking. The treatment is intended to support germination and root development.

4–6-leaf stage, before winter dormancy in winter rapeseed

The basic foliar program uses Quantum Bor Active at 1.0 L/ha. The intensive program combines Quantum Bor Active at 1.0 L/ha, Quantum Technical Crops at 1.0 L/ha and Quantum Phytophos at 1.0 L/ha. For late-sown winter rapeseed, the source also recommends Quantum T80 at 1.0 L/ha. Autumn spraying should take place only when the temperature during application is at least +10 °C and the daily average is at least +5 °C. This treatment is usually combined with a fungicide or growth regulator.

Spring rosette to stem elongation

The basic program recommends Quantum Bor Active at 1.0 L/ha and Quantum Technical Crops at 2.0 L/ha. For intensive production, add Quantum Phytophos at 1.0 L/ha and Quantum AminoMax at 0.5 L/ha.

Budding, before flowering

For intensive rapeseed and mustard crops, the source recommends Quantum Bor Active at 1.0 L/ha and Quantum Technical Crops at 2.0 L/ha. If temperatures may fall below the crop's biological minimum, an additional Quantum AminoFrost treatment at 1.0 L/ha is suggested.

Seed formation

The intensive program uses Quantum Technical Crops at 1.0 L/ha, Quantum K36 at 2.0 L/ha and Quantum AminoMax at 0.5 L/ha. If heat, water deficit or herbicide stress threatens the crop, the source lists additional treatments: Quantum AminoMax at 0.5 L/ha, Quantum AquaSil at 1.0–2.0 L/ha, Quantum SeaAmin at 0.5 L/ha or Quantum Humate at 0.5–1.0 L/ha.

Except for the autumn treatment, the source recommends combining applications with urea at 5–15 kg/ha. Biuret must not exceed 0.8%, because a higher concentration may damage leaves; otherwise reduce the amount of urea.
